Many of us did not grow up in a Montessori classroom. As parents, we often find ourselves drawing upon a great deal of trust. We may intellectually understand how this unique method supports our children’s development, yet we don’t always have the lived experience to fully explain how and why it works when friends or relatives ask.
At The T.E.C. Schools, we recognize that family life is busy. Yet, we also know that the more connected you are to our learning environment, the more your child benefits from Montessori’s child-centered approach.
Whether your child is currently enrolled in our Children’s House, Lower Elementary, Upper Elementary, or Middle School programs—or you are looking for an educational home in Worcester for the upcoming school year—we view education as a true partnership between school and home.
Our Goals for Family & Community Events
When we design family events, workshops, and open houses at The T.E.C. Schools, we hold several core objectives in mind:
1. Deepening Understanding of Montessori Philosophy
We want to help demystify what happens in our classrooms every day. When parents understand how our concrete materials lead to abstract mastery—or how our long work cycles foster deep concentration—it becomes much easier to see the long-term cognitive and emotional benefits for your child.
2. Aligning Home and School Environments
Families often ask us how to bring Montessori principles into their daily routines. When we align our approaches to foster independence, responsibility, and self-discipline, children experience consistency. Understanding developmental stages through a Montessori lens leads to easier day-to-day interactions at home, better collaborative problem-solving, and a stronger sense of confidence in your child.
3. Strengthening Our Parent Community
Parenting is a rewarding yet challenging journey, and no one should have to navigate it alone. Through our school gatherings, we aim to build a supportive network where like-minded families can share experiences, exchange practical advice, and find connection during the natural ebbs and flows of raising children.
4. Equipping You as an Advocate for Your Child
We want you to feel confident answering questions that come up at family gatherings or neighborhood events, and fully prepared for the academic transitions your child will experience as they move from Children's House to Elementary and beyond.
You’re Invited: Discover The T.E.C. Schools at Our November Open House
