After School Enrichment Programs & Child Care


At our Worcester Montessori school, we know that child care and after-school programs are essential for working families. That’s why T.E.C. offers several programs to meet their needs before and after school hours.


Guided by the principles of Think, Explore, and Create, your child will participate in a variety of classes offered during the Fall and Spring semesters. We provide a safe, engaging Montessori environment where children continue learning, exploring, and building meaningful relationships beyond the school day.

Before School Care

Is offered daily from 7:30am – 8:15am. Students may come daily or be dropped off on a day-to-day basis. The environment is prepared for students to experience a calm morning, enjoy their breakfast, and participate in art and brain games. Great for families who need an earlier start to their day.

After School Care

Is offered daily from 3:30pm - 4:00pm. Students participate in outdoor games and have a snack before being dismissed for enrichment classes or to go home. After School Care is included with all Enrichment Programs, but is also offered as a standalone registration.

We are excited to offer a variety of After School Enrichment programs at The T.E.C. Schools. We welcome all students ages 2.9 - 14 years to join us for the programs, whether or not you are enrolled at our school. Enrichment Programs are offered from 4:00pm - 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Read below for the programs offered by grade and day.

Fall 2026 Program Offerings

  • Stripe Competition Robotics Team (Ages 9-13 only) (Mon & Thu)

    This season, our robotics team will be competiting in the Stripe Competition game for the Fall 2026 season: Beam Dream!


    From Stripe Competition: Step into the build zone this season! Teams will tackle real-world engineering challenges—loading rail cargo, delivering critical supplies, installing solar arrays, and prepping the launchpad for blastoff.


    Students will work in teams of 2-3 to design a robot that can autonomously perform a large array of tasks in a limited time frame. Robots will be built on the LEGO SPIKE platform coded in Python using Pybricks. This competition format is similar to FIRST LEGO League, but the focus is entirely on the robotics and engineering challenge without a secondary research project. The robotics team will meet every Monday and Thursday during usual after school times on days when school is in session. The competition is limited to students between 9 and 13 years of age as of 12/31/2026. Our teams will compete at a local divisional tournament during the season; more information will be shared about this when it is announced.   • LEGO Club (Mondays, Ages 2.9-14)

    Unleash your creativity with LEGO bricks and see your ideas come to life! At the LEGO station in our makerspace, you'll have all the parts and piece to build whatever you can imagine and a space maintain larger projects week-to-week. This class is good for students who want to work with friends to create cities, moving vehicles, and more!

  • Ukulele Club (Tuesdays, Ages 8-14)

    Limit 6 students, waitlist available.

    Ready to make some music? Whether you are a total beginner or already know a few chords, our Ukulele Club is the perfect place to learn and play! We will master the basics, learn fun songs together, and even form our own mini-band. The best part? We will wrap up the season with a special live group performance to show off our new skills to family and friends. Grab a uke and let’s get strumming!

  • Art Club (Tuesdays, Ages 2.9-14)

    What will you create? Learn all the tricks and techniques of artistic expression in a comprehensive art class! Build sculptures, paint models, craft dioramas, and much more! Let your imagination soar!

  • Maker Club: 3D Printing, Coding, & More! (Wednesdays, Ages 8-14)

    Work in our makerspace on a passion project of your choosing! You can design something in Tinkercad and print it on our 3D printer, code a game or animation in Scratch or another language, create and program some circuits with Arduino, build a useful LEGO robot, or something else that inspires you. We encourage our students to be innovative and inventive, so we're offering the tools and expertise of our makerspace to allow students to create whatever they can imagine!

  • Kitchen Chemistry (Wednesdays, Ages 2.9-9)

    Inspire the chef, the scientist, and the engineer in you! Join us after school as we transform the kitchen into a laboratory. We'll uncover the hidden science behind our favorite foods by exploring mixtures, solutions, and chemical bonds—and the best part? You get to eat some of your results!

  • Monano Cardboard Art and Music Magic (Thursdays, Ages 2.9-14))

    Embark on a magical journey through creative art with reusable materials plus a whole cast of colorful monster friends! Ignite your creativity and spark endless imagination as you immerse in a cardboard experience!

  • Minecraft Modding Club (Fridays, Ages 8-14))

    For ages 8 and up

    Dive deep into the code of Minecraft to make your own custom mods. Work with your classmates to make the ultimate modpack consisting of custom blocks, items, mobs, structures, and more! Use tools like Blockbench to 3D model, texture, and animate your custom creatures and items, then implement them into the game with MCreator.

    • Fundamentals of programming, including data types, logic, and file structures
    • Texture editing & modeling
    • Debugging & troubleshooting
    • Version control & documentation

  • Playground Games (Fridays, Ages 2.9-8)

    Fun indoor and outdoor activities and games that are designed to make fitness fun, build gross motor skills, and create enthusiasm for movement. We will learn about teamwork and strategy in a variety of challenges and games.

Tutoring and Piano Lessons

For students ages 6 years and up.

  • ELA Tutoring (Tue, Wed, or Thu)

    Develop reading, writing, or executive function skills with one-on-one or group classes with Mrs. Reed. Students develop fluency in their language skills. They learn to organize and manage their time by breaking tasks in smaller units and visually placing them on a calendar. Tutoring is available Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays.

  • Piano Lessons (Online Only, Days Vary)

    Work with Mr. Johnson to gain proficiency in piano playing and music theory through individually tailored instruction. Whether you are a beginner looking for introductory lessons or an advanced student seeking to master your piano skills, you will be challenged to reach your goals. This course is online only. Mr. Johnson will reach out for scheduling after registration. You may sign up for 30- or 60-minute lessons.

    After School Policies

    Enrollment

    Enrollment in the After School Program at The T.E.C. Schools are on a first come first serve basis. Students may enroll at any time in the session if space is available. Tuition will not be prorated.


    Withdrawal

    Students may withdraw after the first lesson by paying for one trial lesson. No refund will be made after the second class.


    Tuition Payment

    Tuition must be paid in full before the first class of every session. Tuition will not be refunded in cases of student absences.

     

    Teacher Absences and Snow Days

    We will make every effort to make up classes canceled due to teacher absences or inclement weather. The T.E.C. Schools will inform the parents in the event that class is canceled. Although we predominantly follow the Worcester Public Schools (WPS) protocol and will be closed when WPS is closed for snow days, we may occasionally stay open based on road conditions. Please check our website for updates. Families appreciate our flexible after school care program that combines supervision, outdoor play, and opportunities for continued learning.
