Explorers Program
A joyful, hands-on Montessori introduction for children ages 20 months to 5 years.
Taking that very first step from the comfort of home into a school setting is a profound milestone. For your child, it is the beginning of lifelong independence. For you, it requires immense trust.
At The T.E.C. Schools, the Explorers Program is intentionally designed to honor this beautiful transition. We provide a warm, deeply supportive environment where toddlers and preschoolers can safely navigate their first taste of the world outside their family. Here, we nurture their natural curiosity, helping them reach their highest potential to become accomplished, moral, and intrinsically satisfied individuals.
Think. Explore. Create: Where Heart Meets Mind
We know that young children learn best when their hands are busy and their hearts are engaged. Our curriculum blends the joy of being little with purposeful, real-world experiences, anchored by our three core principles:
- Think: Fostering Autonomy and Focus
"I can do it myself!" Even at 20 months, children are capable of deep concentration. Following the individualized Montessori approach, we empower them to choose their activities and complete tasks on their own. This builds immense pride and cultivates the focus that will guide their independent thinking for years to come.
- Explore: Joyful, Hands-On Discoveries
Young children are natural scientists. Our classrooms are rich with tactile Montessori materials that invite curiosity and daily discoveries. Through early, age-appropriate S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) concepts, children explore their environment using their senses, developing critical fine and gross motor skills through play.
- Create: Building a Moral Compass
Sharing space, taking turns, and navigating big emotions are huge steps for early explorers. In our mixed-age environment, children learn to navigate complex peer-to-peer social settings. Through collaborative play, grace, and courtesy exercises, they develop a profound sense of empathy and begin to build their own moral compass.
Designed for Them. Flexible for You.
You want a high-quality, intellectually challenging educational experience for your child, but you may not want or need full-time childcare.
The Explorers Program offers a half-day schedule tailored to modern families. You get the peace of mind knowing your child is engaging in rigorous, hands-on learning during their peak morning hours, while still keeping your afternoons open for family time, naps, and connection.

"My daughter started Kindergarten at The T.E.C. Schools this year and all I can only say is that I feel incredibly lucky that I was able to enroll her at this fine school. Due to the pandemic, my daughter had been somewhat isolated. The teachers and staff have worked tirelessly to help her adjust to full-time schooling. They continue to accommodate her individual needs with infinite patience and understanding. It has only been a few weeks into the term and my daughter is already showing positive changes in her attitude towards learning. The transformation is because her teachers make learning fun and interesting. They inspire her to strive to do better without undue pressure. A good example is getting my daughter to hold her pencils in the correct manner - something she had refused to learn until now! I cannot thank the staff at T.E.C. enough for providing such a loving and nurturing learning environment for my daughter."
Ainy, School Parent
"I love that my son is encouraged to think and learn and solve problems on his own! He's hitting so many milestones! T.E.C. is a place where he can thrive and learn and succeed. They help kids find their strengths and learn how to ask for help and advocate for themselves at a very young age-- such important life skills."
Helen Aviv, School Parent
“I learn new things everyday. I keep on trying and keep on doing it until I learn it.”
