The T.E.C. Schools. Think. Explore. Create.

Our School

Our Mission is to Prepare Children for Life.

Our Mission

The mission of The T.E.C. Schools is to cultivate children’s natural curiosity and educate them to reach their highest potential to become accomplished, moral, and intrinsically satisfied individuals. Using the scientific tools of education in a Montessori environment, students meet their intellectual, social, and emotional needs by engaging in hands-on, real-world experiences to prepare for life.

Think. Explore. Create.

Our teaching method is anchored in the three tenets: Think, Explore, Create.

Think

Students learn best when they are curious about a topic. Teachers recognize the unique talents of each student and foster their interests, encouraging students to take charge of their learning. Following the individualized Montessori education approach, students at our Worcester campus cultivate rigor, work ethic, and focus, which in turn helps them learn core academic skills and grow throughout their life with independent thinking.

Explore

Students at The T.E.C. Schools are immersed in robust, interdisciplinary science, technology, engineering, arts, and math programs. Through S.T.E.A.M. education, students learn the scientific method and the iterative engineering design process to explore the fundamental principles that make our world work. This experiential component of our teaching method inspires students to be passionate about their learning while developing the soft skills of time management, collaboration, and peer mentoring.

Create

The T.E.C. Schools works directly with local institutions to focus on S.T.E.A.M. education and create opportunities for students to participate in field experiences on a larger scale. In this unique, cooperative association with community partners, students apply their knowledge and skills to create real-life solutions that address needs within their community. Through this collaborative process, students use their creativity to develop mastery in areas of their interest.

Moral Compass

At The T.E.C. Schools, we believe that true education lies not only in imparting academic skills but also in developing a sense of purpose in life. Our code of conduct is defined by the values we embody. Students develop their own moral compass by practicing the core values as an integral part of their education. Faculty and students strive to:

  • Be respectful
  • Seek truth
  • Strive for excellence
  • Achieve balance
  • Live with dignity and integrity
  • Be joyful

Peace Education

“Averting war is the work of politicians; establishing peace is the work of education.” ~Maria Montessori

Maria Montessori believed that educating children was the most powerful tool to achieve a peaceful world. Peace education is woven into the daily fabric of our Montessori classrooms, beginning with grace and courtesy exercises, the impressionistic Great Lessons and community service opportunities. With our Montessori education, students in Worcester learn about the awesome scope of the earth’s history, their unique place in the world and that they each have an integral role in society.

Our experience over the past several years with T. E. C. School has been fantastic. When we were looking for a school for Rohan, the most important element for us was a nurturing environment that would foster both a love for learning and confidence in himself, and we have found all of those things at T.E.C. Rohan gets such a sense of accomplishment from completing his work, and he’s being encouraged and pushed to grow in his knowledge and understanding in ways that we’ve been so proud and pleased to see. The projects the students complete throughout the year – Mystery History, the STEAM Faire, the poetry recital and End-of-the-Year concert – all of these milestones have helped Rohan look forward to school and enjoy the process of learning. And he’s developed such a great sense of community with his friends – they are all supportive of each other and help each other in their work, which is wonderful to witness."

Megan and Ricky Sethi, Parents at T.E.C. Schools for 6 years!

“At T.E.C. all students are at their own level. Every child is helped at individual level. This is good because no one is wasting time waiting for other students. Everyone can choose challenging work and make their time worthwhile. They trust the children and allow them to do challenging work. Students are respected at The T.E.C. School. If a student needs to see the principal, it is actually relieving because it is quiet. They are able to focus and go back to the classroom. The teachers teach us right from wrong and give us time to think and relax and get back to work quietly.”
